Full Garden Design Package
Process Outline
Stage 1 - Site Visit and Site Survey I will survey the site to produce an accurate survey of the garden. This includes taking measurements of the house and garden, soil analysis, looking at where there is sun and shade, views from the house, where you are being overlooked and a general feel for the garden. I will plot anything you want to keep such as outbuildings, trees, plants and I will then draw up a scaled plan of your garden.
Stage 2 - Your Requirements We will have a detailed meeting to discuss your requirements and aspirations for the garden and we will talk about how you want to use the garden, the feeling you want to get from your garden and what you would like to include. We will run through a check list and discuss materials and plants at this meeting. This is an opportunity to share some images of gardens and planting you love which will help me to understand the style of garden you like and want to create.
Stage 3 - Layout Concept I will then start work exploring ideas and concepts and will produce a layout which I feel will work best for you and your garden which I will present at a meeting. I will produce a mood board to help explain my ideas for your garden and show you 3D computer images of the garden so we can move around the garden and view it from different angles. I will also bring some samples of my materials choices which best suit your design for you to approve. This is the point to make any major alterations.
Stage 4 - Review and Approval I will make changes to the garden following our meeting, which you will need to approve. Up to two changes are included in the fees. Once the plans are approved you will receive very realistic computer renders of your garden. These are of exceptional quality and help you see your garden in a very realistic way.
Stage 5 - The Final Plans I will produce the plans for the final design for the landscapers to quote from. These include a Master Plan with annotations, a measurement plan for setting out the garden, a general arrangement builders plan and one for the Lighting design if required. We can also produce construction drawings or detailed designs for kitchens, pergolas, fireplaces etc.
Stage 6 - Planting Plans A mood board for plants will be made for you to approve. Plants will be chosen based on your taste where conditions allow, colour schemes you may want, low/high maintenance, favourite plants, plants you dislike, the amount of sun/shade the garden gets. A full planting plan will be produced once plants and trees have been selected. This takes into account the sizes the plants will eventually grow to. I produce a full list of plants for you with quantities needed and can send them to my suppliers for quotes. We have access to the best UK growers.
Stage 7 - The tendering Process We regularly work with Landscapers so can recommend teams to build your garden. Your contract with landscapers is directly with them.
Stage 8 - Plant Supply After we have the plant/tree costs approved and paid for we can supply all plants for your project. This sometime involves visits to select the best trees.
Stage 9 - Planting Once your garden is built we can bring in gardeners to plant the garden.
